Catching ideas

One of my biggest issues when writing is feeling blocked. I know I’m not even nearly the only one so I figured out I could write a list of habits that gets my creativity going so maybe they’re gonna help you guys as well.

Watching a movie or reading a book

If the movie or the book is good it usually gets me invested, which gets me thinking of something similar, which leads to an idea, then to another idea and then another one that usually has nothing to do with whatever I just watched or read. Or this is just how it works for me.

Brainstorming session

This is a very conscious effort of getting creative while trying to get creative. While I know sometimes you don’t get any writing worthy ideas out of it, it’s still gonna put you in a good thinking mood.

Writing

Even if it’s just messing with the letters on the keyboard or hand writing freely, some of the best ideas can come to you while you’re not actually thinking about them. Just write whatever comes to your mind like no one is ever going to read it and who knows what can come out of it?

Doing the complete opposite thing

I know some say if you want to write something good you should write. But for me leaving it alone for a while and actually doing something else helps. It can get your mind a little relaxed and focused on other things and hey, maybe you’ll do something worth writing?!

I like to say I love too many stuff and that’s why I never know what to do with my time. Also everything I wanted to write in my bio had too many characters.
